Metaltecnica Gate Valve Spindle / Plate Clip – Stainless Steel

Metaltecnica have introduced a new clamping system to be used when fitting the spindle shaft to replacement plates in the 6” slurry gate valve. The new system uses a special stainless steel clamp. In order to fasten the spindle to the plate simply fit the clamp to the shaft end, insert the spindle shaft/clamp assembly into the slot in the plate with the clamp ends through the opening in the back of the slot. Then bend the clamp ends into the recessed locations at the back of the plate. When assembly is completed the clamp will appear as shown in the pictures below. This will secure the spindle in the plate and allow the proper clearance for fitting to the valve.

It is recommended that should the plate and spindle be disassembled for any reason, that a new stainless steel clamp part no. 00410002A be used for reassembly of the parts.

This is a convenient solution, developed and patented by Metaltecnica, to reduce the incidence of breakage on the valve plate. The new style plate can fully replace the older type plate and does not require any further adjustment of the spindle or top housing. The new style plate is being fitted to current production of all 6” valve models and will gradually be introduced to the other size valves produced by Metaltecnica.
